Training courses

The Library periodically holds courses on digital resources for bibliographic research and bibliography management (Zotero).

The courses are free of charge, aimed at all users, especially undergraduates.  Educational activities can be recognized in various ways: through the issuance of a certificate, educational credits or an Open Badge.

Reservations are required, selecting Area of Interest “Giuridico” for courses on bibliographic research, and “Scienze sociali” for Zotero.

Courses are held in italian.

 

Alla scoperta di Galileo Discovery: come cercare materiale bibliografico per le scienze giuridiche

Starting with the University Library System's discovery tool, search strategies will be shown to locate and eventually reserve desired resources. Through examples of a practical nature, it will be learned how to recognize bibliographic material and use Galileo Discovery to the fullest, an overview of the services offered by the library, such as, that of Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan, will also be given.

 

De Jure e ForoPlus: banche dati per la ricerca giuridica

This workshop focuses on the two databases: DeJure from the publisher Giuffrè and ForoPlus from the publisher Il Foro Italiano. DeJure, provides access to a large collection of sources related to Jurisprudence, offering a wide search option of maxims, annotated case law, rulings, legislation, some annotated codes and gives access to a selection of the publisher's books and journals in electronic format. ForoPlus, on the other hand, allows the consultation of archives of case law published by the Italian Forum since 1987, legislation, the Repertory of the Italian Forum, bibliography, tax practice, forms, commentary (explanatory comments on the articles of the 4 codes), and in the library section it keeps pdf files of the magazine Il Foro Italiano and the magazines La Tribuna. Through practical examples you will understand how the databases work and how to set up your searches for optimal results.

 

One Legale, One Fiscale, Dogi e Essper: banche dati per la ricerca giuridica

The workshop offers a focus on the main search strategies in the full-text databases One Legale and One Fiscale of Wolters Kluwer publishing house. One Legale gives access to legislation, case law and doctrine, annotated codes (Civil, Criminal, Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure), UTET's Digest, and allow full-text research in journals published by Wolters Kluwer. The platform also provides access to the portals My Library, Professional Newsstand, and the Legal Newspaper. One Fiscale offers legislation, practice, accounting principles, doctrine and case law in the tax area. Commented codes are available (VAT, TUIR, Indirect Taxes and Local Taxes, and Assessment and Collection. As for DoGi and Essper, they are bibliographic databases, the former of purely Italian legal fields (Dottrina Giuridica), the latter offering a cross-cutting focus on topics in Italian economics, law, history and social sciences.

 

ABC della ricerca

A course on information literacy, consisting of a first part in self-learning on Moodle platform and a second part in classroom. The various stages of bibliographic research will be explained: investigation, search, locating, evaluating sources, and using the material/bibliography, with practical exercises and group work.
