Find materials
Books, journals, DVDs, ancient books and more
GalileoDiscovery is the tool for searching books, articles, DVDs, maps, journals and many other resources owned by the libraries of the Paduan Library System.
GalileoDiscovery is easy to use, simple and plain responsive. In GalileoDiscovery you can check the lending conditions of the resources and, if you log in, you can access some personalized services such as booking and loan renewal.
Electronic resources and databases
You can use electronic resources and databases from all the workstations of the University network or use the Off-campus connection. No procedure is required to consult free or open access resources.

eBooks
The University Library System offers a rich collection of eBooks, available online and searchable with GalileoDiscovery and on the MLOL – MediaLibraryOnLine portal.
You can read ebooks found in GalileoDiscovery from all the workstations of the University network or using the off-campus connection. No formalities are required for consultation of free and open access volumes.

MLOL – MediaLibraryOnLine
MLOL – MediaLibraryOnLine is the digital lending platform with the largest collection of content for all Italian libraries.
MLOL gives access to a large catalogue of Italian and foreign eBooks. Authenticated institutional users can obtain a digital loan of eBooks (access with Single Sign-On – maximum 2 volumes per month for 14 days).
Electronic journals
GalileoDiscovery allows you to search and access a wide selection of e-journals. In Journal Search, you can see accessible titles divided by disciplinary categories.
To read the full text of the articles in journals not in Open Access, you must use a workstation on the University network or an Off-campus connection.
Maps
Maps are searchable with GalileoDiscovery and in MapFly, a WebGIS portal.
MapFly allows you to verify the presence of maps for the area of interest by searching the basemap. Then, you can retrieve the map in the library or, when copyright permits, view and download the georeferenced digital reproduction.
Digital collections and virtual exhibitions
Phaidra (Permanent Hosting, Archiving and Indexing of Digital Resources and Assets) is a platform for managing and archiving digitised collections. Simple to use, it provides access to a wide range of multimedia objects like images, documents, books, audio, music, video, and teaching resources.
Anyone can search and browse the digital collections stored in the system.
At https://mostre.cab.unipd.it/index/ you can find all the virtual exhibitions by the Library System, but also exhibitions curated by other structures of the University of Padua and local institutions as well.
