Antique and rare volumes are stored in rooms U2 and U3 (accessible only by authorized request).
The collection of Ancient and Rare books derives from the libraries that were part of the Beato Pellegrino Library Cluster.
The antique books collection has more than 3,000 items printed between the 16th and 19th centuries. More of them acquired from donations in recent years, have not be catalogued yet.
The rare book fund consists of about 1,500 modern books and is stored in a space usually not accessible to the public to ensure ideal conditions for a particularly valuable or delicate type of publication.

The manuscript collection consists of 25 pieces of different types (books or papers) and varying dates.
Consultation is allowed only for titles not already available in electronic format, after booking from GalileoDiscovery or filling out the form, only after arranging an appointment with the library's structured staff.
Fine books with RARE collocation: can be requested at the library front office only in the presence of the structured staff.
