The library
The Biblioteca di Matematica was founded in 1926 under the name Biblioteca del Seminario Matematico to support the activities of the Seminario Matematico and was located in the Palazzo del Bo.
In 1953 it was moved to the Paolotti building and in 2006 it was relocated to "Torre Archimede". In the same year, it incorporated the Library of the Dipartimento di Metodi e Modelli Matematici per le Scienze Applicate.
In 2012 it changed its name to the Biblioteca di Matematica.
In its current location, it has been the subject of several reorganisations in response to new user needs, with a gradual increase in the number of seats available, up to the current 342 seats.
The spaces have also been redesigned to host events and welcome citizens wishing to visit the library's collections, which include the collection of models and mathematical instruments.
