Equipment and device loan
The library provides 20 laptops for use in the library or for loan.
The use is reserved for institutional users of the University of Padua (students and staff).
The library also manages the loan of the devices used for the laboratories of the computer science and cybersecurity degree courses.
Computer loan
The computer is borrowed at the library's information and loan counter by presenting a valid university ID.
- Use in the library: the computer may not be taken out of the library and must be returned before closing time.
- Home loan: The loan lasts for 15 days and is renewable. A registration form for the service must also be signed
Service Rules
Those who borrow a computer are liable for any violations of the law during use.
Damage or theft: the borrower shall pay the costs of repair or replacement in the case of damage, loss or theft of the computer or any of its components.
The user who discovers damage or malfunctions on the newly borrowed computer must report it immediately to the library staff.
Computer settings
Computer with Linux operating system
Personal data saved on the hard disk is automatically deleted when the session is closed or the computer is powered down or restarted. The Eduroam network configuration is also deleted when the session is closed.
Computers with Windows operating system
Users must delete personal data (files and network configuration) from the computer before handing it back to the library.
The loan of Windows computers is reserved for students of the Mathematics Department.
Loan of computer lab devices (mobile phones and Mac Mini)
The loan of devices is reserved for students on degree courses in computer science and cybersecurity.
Mac Mini must be used only in the Mobile Lab, while mobile phones can also be taken outside the department.
A registration form must be signed to access the loan.
