Library holdings
The Library has approximately 105,000 modern monographic volumes and a total of 282 subscriptions to paper or online periodicals.
It manages reference bibliographic collections for teaching and research in the field of Philosophical Sciences, including ancient, medieval, Renaissance, modern, oriental, logic, theoretical, aesthetic, religion, politics, language and science philosophy. , ethics and bioethics
Some of the volumes can be freely consulted on open shelves but the majority of what is owned is placed in closed warehouses and is removed upon request.
To check if a book is in the library you need to consult GalileoDiscovery.
The Library purchases bibliographic material relevant to the subject and proposed by the research staff, in addition to the exam texts adopted in the Degree Courses in Philosophy and related courses.
The exam texts are excluded from the loan and placed on open shelves. If a second copy is present it can be borrowed for 15 days.
Ancient books (Z.ANT location) can be booked on GalileoDiscovery or requested via email to biblio.filosofia@unipd.it, users will be notified of the availability of the volume at the front office. The ancient material is available for on-site consultation only.
The magazines with RIV.M.STEFANINI collocation and the volumes with FT collocation can be consulted from the day following the request.
The reading rooms house the works of the main philosophers, reference works (dictionaries, encyclopedias, bibliographies, repertoires), exam texts from the last two academic years and current periodicals.
Material not available on open shelves (location sections M, FT, DEP.RIV.A., RIV.M.) is stored in the warehouses. It is picked up on request at fixed times:
9.00; 10.30am; 12.00; 2.00pm; 3.30pm; 5.00pm.

The Bodrero Fund (location FB) and the magazines stored in the warehouse (location RIV.M and DEP.RIV.A) are located in warehouses outside the structure and are collected twice a week on request.

How to request books in the deposits: volumes can be booked on GalileoDiscovery by entering your credentials in the AUTHENTICATE section (SSO for institutional users and Social Login for external users already in possession of the University Library System Card).
How to request magazines placed in storage (DEP.RIV.A., RIV.M.): enter the request from GalileoDiscovery and in the comment indicate the file/volume and year requested.
Users will receive an email notification regarding the availability of the requested material.
