SensusAccess
SensusAccess is a self-service tool that automatically converts web pages and files into alternative multimedia formats, thus improving accessibility.
How to access
The service is intended for people with disabilities but is available to all University of Padua students, employees, and schools by simply using their institutional email address (@unipd.it or @studenti.unipd.it).
How it works
Users have access to a variety of conversion services based on their needs:
- Audio files: MP3 and audiobooks (DAISY format)
- E-books in EPUB, EPUB3, and Mobi formats
- Digital Braille books
Additionally, the service is designed to remediate otherwise inaccessible documents, such as image-only PDF files or scanned documents, and pictures of texts.
Follow the four easy steps below to have your document converted
- Upload the original file (or a link to a web page)
- Select the final format (output)
- Submit the request
- Receive an email containing the converted and accessible file or a download link for large files.
The documents sent will be automatically deleted once converted
The processed file will be accessible for 7 days, after which the request will be automatically removed from the server.

The source document is subsequently deleted from the servers. Target documents, available through coded links, are kept on SensusAccess delivery servers for up to seven days and then deleted.
Communication between the service forms and the backend reception server may be open or encrypted via SSL.
