Access and spaces
Access to the Library is granted to everybody.
The entrance to the Library is situated on the ground floor of the building named "Vallisneri". The library is fully accessible to the disabled, being free of architectural barriers.
You must reserve your seat through the Affluences App or Affluences via Web. You can download the App Affluences from Apple Store or Google Play. Please choose University of Padua and then Biblioteca Vallisneri. The first time you register to the App you will get an email, that you have to reply to and confirm. That procedure has to be done only the first time. Then, through the Affluences App, you can choose your seat and how long you want to stay.
When you arrive at the library you have to scan the QR code that you find on the desk at the entrance, that is to avoid keeping seats busy in case you cannot come after you have reserved. Remember that for that reason, your reservation will be cancelled after 30 minutes if you do not confirm your presence.
In the library, there are 102 total available seats, distributed in 3 reading rooms “Atrio”, “Sala Grande”, “Sala Piccola".
NOTICE: The room called "Sala Grande" is temporarily unavailable due to flood damage.
Seat no. 99 and no.100 can be reserved by one person but can be used by 2 people (1 postoX2)
Most desks are equipped with electric sockets.
If you are not a member of Padova University, you can access the services for “guests”.
People who do not have a regular relationship with the University and do not have an institutional e-mail address such as @unipd.it or @studenti.unipd.it, can obtain a library card that allows them to borrow books, extend the loan etc.
