Training courses
The Social Sciences libraries organise periodic courses on the services of the University Library System, the use of information resources (catalogues, databases, web resources, etc.), bibliographic research, Open Science and much more.
The workshops are aimed at institutional users and guest users with an SBA card.
Basic courses
ABC of Research
A workshop on ‘information competence’, i.e. the ability to search, find, select and use bibliographic information correctly. It is recommended for those embarking on a bibliographical research course in anticipation of their Bachelor's thesis. The University Library System issues an ABC of Research Open Badge to students who complete the course in the Social Sciences Library Cluster in blended mode (course on Moodle SBA + home assignment + participation in the exercise in the physical or virtual classroom). Students meeting the requirements will receive from Bestr, at their institutional email address (name.surname@studenti.unipd.it).
Zotero
The University Library System organizes training courses to learn how to use Zotero effectively. Zotero is a free, open-source software for managing bibliographies; importing citations from catalogues, databases and websites; creating and organising bibliographies for theses, books and articles; and inserting and formatting citations in the text of documents. The Zotero Calendar include a date, held entirely in English, specifically created for international students, who want to learn how to use this bibliographic management tool.
