Library. More than just a place

To help students use Unipd library resources better.

published: Oct 20, 2025

In the Library, there are those who have prepared for their first exam and written the last sentence of their thesis,

those who have consulted and borrowed books for a group project,

those who have learned how to do research,

those who have found lifelong friends.

The Library is more than just a place.

The University Libraries offer a wide range of services to newly enrolled students at the University of Padua.
Available services include:

  • GalileoDiscovery: a single search tool for all print and electronic library resources
  • Book lending: borrow up to 15 books per library for students, from the libraries that own them
  • Exam texts: each library has a section with exam materials for degree programs
  • Wi-Fi: free internet access via the Eduroam Wi-Fi network
  • Off-campus connection: resources can also be accessed outside the University network
  • Document delivery: obtain copies of journal articles or book chapters not available in Padua libraries
  • Interlibrary loan: borrow books not held by Padua libraries
  • Alternative format books: exam texts and articles available in accessible formats
  • Training courses are available to learn how to search, find, select, and use bibliographic information.

Come to the libraries and ask the librarians for useful information that will guide you in selecting and using the available resources and services.
