Collection
In 1912 the first volume of the Journal “Memoirs of the Geological Institute of the R. University of Padua” was published by Prof. Giorgio Dal Piaz (1872-1962), with the aim of “... collecting the fruitful scientific production in an orderly and appropriate series of publications concerning the Geology of the interesting Veneto Region...” (cf. G. Dal Piaz, v. 1(1912), Preface). The journal has always substantially retained its editorial format, first edited by Prof. Giorgio Dal Piaz, then by Prof. Giovanni Battista Dal Piaz (1904-1995) until 1995, the year of his death, and then by Prof. Giampietro Braga, until 2005.
The journal ceased publication with vol. 55(2003/2004).
Digitized copies of Memoirs of Geological Sciences are now fully and freely available, thanks in part to the liberality of the heirs of Prof. Giorgio Dal Piaz and Prof. Giampietro Braga, who donated the reproduction rights of our historical journal to the Department of Geosciences.
The collection is accessible from the Phaidra University Archives. The Geosciences Library has digitized part of the issues and all the cartography, reproduced in high resolution:

The other files that complete the collection had already been digitized in Hathi Trust, the repository of U.S. academic and research institutions, and the Department of Geosciences was granted open viewing:
