It is the ordered catalogue of the seeds of plants cultivated in a Botanical Garden which is sent to other Botanical Gardens for information and to allow the exchange of these seeds.

The Library keeps a historical series of "Index seminum" starting from 1815 and continues to collect Indexes published by the Botanical Garden of Padua but also those received from other Botanical Gardens and Gardens around the world. Consultation and duplication services are available according to library regulations.
