The Fabio Metelli Central Library of Psychology organizes the conference "La Metelli incontra... human wisdom and artificial intelligence."
The event, open to the university community and the public, will be held in italian language on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 5:00 PM, in the Psico2 building, room 4S, via Venezia 12/2, Padova.
Guests:
Pamela Boldrin, an essayist with a background in healthcare and philosophy, editor of the journal La Chiave di Sophia, recently published Connessi e plasmati: in (dis)equilibrio tra saggezza umana e intelligenza artificiale (Nodo Edizioni, 2025).
Luca Pezzullo, a psychologist and president of the Veneto Order of Psychologists, works at the University of Padua, where he provides guidance and mentoring to prospective psychologists.
Alberto Testolin teaches Artificial Intelligence and works on cognitive modeling at the Department of General Psychology.
Inspired by the book Connessi e plasmati, the meeting explores the delicate relationship between the human dimension and AI. Through discussions with experts, topics related to autonomy, critical thinking, computational power, and the transformation of knowledge will be addressed. This will be an opportunity to reflect together on how to maintain awareness, responsibility, and human meaning in the dialogue with artificial intelligence.
The meeting will be moderated by Vincenzo Calvo, professor of Psychodynamics of Family Relationships at the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education, and Applied Psychology.
